Welcome to the CMC website

Centre for Mental Health and Counselling – Nepal (CMC-Nepal) is a national level non-governmental organization, registered on 1st May 2003 in Kathmandu District Administration Office and affiliated to the Social Development Council. It is working on various levels with preventive, promotive and curative aspects of mental health, aiming to provide mental health services in the community. It is also supporting other organizations in their psychosocial programs. The initiator of CMC-Nepal is United Mission to Nepal, Mental Health Program, established in 1984.

CMC aims to work through other organizations (governmental, NGOs/INGOs and institutions) to promote awareness and good quality mental health care by capacity building and support. The aim of CMC – Nepal is towards mainly indirect impact, which would make the organizations empowered and having the sense of ownership of work in order to carry out mental health activities in their working area.
