Child Mental Heath Programme

Promotes mental heath among children and adolescents in Dolakha and Kavre districts, and facilitates the provision of mental health services for those with emotional and behavioural problems. The aim is to integrate this approach within the government district education and health systems.

Programme activities are:

• Training and supervision of teachers, student volunteers and supervisors in preventative and promotive approaches for the psychosocial wellbeing of children and adolescents
• Support for reading and play materials
• Life skills education for children and adolescents
• Training and supervision of health workers in child and adult mental health
• Child Guidance Clinic in Charikot Primary Health Care Centre, Dolakha
