Classroom observation by Finish Ambassador in Gorkha CMC Nepal program school

The Finnish Ambassador to Nepal, Jorma Suvanto,  government policy level officials  Yubaraj Poudel, Monitoring & Evaluation division  of Ministry of Education,  Chiranjibi Gautam, Educational Counselling Unit and Baburam Dhungana, Monitoring & Evaluation Section from Department of Education, Yuha Lind, Regional Director & Teressa Juhanimaki, Development Manager from Felm conducted monitoring visit in Gorkha on March 2018 with the aim of promoting bilateral support between Government of Nepal & Finland in the field of School Mental Health Program. 2 schools in Gorkha Manakamana Secondary School & Mahindra Jyoti Secondary School were visited. The team observed the classroom activities, practice of promotional boards, positive disciplinary approach and had interaction with head teachers, psychosocial focal teachers, School Management Committee & Parents’ Teachers’ Association & School Administration. They also separately interacted with psychosocial focal teachers and observation the documentation maintained by the focal teacher. The team visited DEO office as well where the DEO Dipendra Subedi explained the status of education in Gorkha and highlighted the changes that CMC-Nepal’s program has bought after the program is implemented.

Overall, the visit had a very good impression on the team and had requested for further expansion the other schools of Gorkha and other districts. Ambassador was glad & felt proud to be on this monitoring visit and thanked Felm & CMC-Nepal. The team of MoE & DoE was impressed with the initiation of CMC-Nepal in the field of School Mental Health.
