CMC-Nepal’s 15th Anniversary Celebration
CMC-Nepal celebrated its 15th Anniversary ceremony in Kathmandu on May 1, 2018.
The distinguished guest Australian Ambassador to Nepal, H.E. Peter Budd, Finnish Ambassador to Nepal, H.E. Jorma Suvanto, Director of PHCRD, DoHS, Mr. Bhogendra Raj Dottel, Department of Psychiatry, IOM, Dr. Saroj Ojha, Deputy Director DoE, Ms. Chandra Thapa, HoD, were present in the ceremony of the anniversary. Besides, representatives from various orgnisations like Ms. Teressa Juhaninmäki from Felm, Dr. Kedar Marahatta from WHO, Mr. Sujen Maharjan from ACF, Ms. Roni Pradhan from SaMi Helvetas, Dr. Mita Rana from Nepal Clinical Psychologist Association, Dr. Shishir Subba from Tribhuvan University, Resource Person from Rasuwa and other repres
entatives from various organisations and institutions had presence in the program. The guest of the dias and other guest also provided their valuable wishes to CMC-Nepal on occasion. Wishes from Minister of State for Health and Population, Hon. Padma Kumari Aryal, Secretary, Women, Children and Senior Citizen, Mr. Naindra Prasad Upadhyaya and Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Khaga Raj Baral was stated however they couldn’t attend the program due to their busy schedule. The wishes from various professionals and well wishers were also collected and shared during the program.
The program started with National Anthem alongwith welcoming all the guests by Executive Director, Mr. Ram Lal Shrestha followed by lightning the lamp & cutting the Anniversary cake by our Chairperson, Dr. Kapil D. Upadhyaya & Mr. Bhogendra Raj Dottel. Then the program was continued with the presentation on highlights & achievements of CMC-Nepal of 15 years by Technical Director, Dr. Pashupati Mahat. In the program staff members Mr. Kali Bdr. Kami, Mental Health Social Worker from Salyan, Mr. Lok Bdr. B.K., School Mental Health Supervisor from Salyan, Ms. Laxmi Maharjan, Office Assistant & Ms. Srijana Shrestha, Admin Officer were felicitated with Letter of Appreciation & providing Dosalla shawl for their contribution and dedication towards CMC-Nepal. Also, Dr. Vidya Dev Sharma, Professor and Sr. Psychiatrist was felicitated with Letter of Appreciation & Dosalla shawl for his dedication in the field of mental health in community level from the birth of CMC-Nepal.
Also, Token of Love were provided to our financial partners Felm, Tear Australia, SaMi/Helvetas, United Nation Population Fund (UNFPA), SDC, cbm, Geneva Global, Freedom Fund & ACF, as a vote of thanks for supporting us in this long run. Then the program was closed formally by Chairperson, Dr. Kapil D. Upadhyaya thanking all the valuable guests for attending the program and making it a success.
Prior to that, press meet was organised with media person to intereact on the Mental Health and Psychosocial issues. Media person like from Kantipur, Avenues, News24, The Himalayan Times, Online Khabar, Nagarik news, were present in the meet. The coverage about the mental health issues and about CMC-Nepal’s achievements was very impressive on the same day and the following day.
